She asks, I answer, because she is that powerful; and I like blog hops and free promotion. Really it's because she retweets my tweets and makes me feel important, savvy, hip, and culturally relevant, which I'm not She also thinks I'm funny, which I am.
I am going to introduce Remiel to the world in this Blog Hop. He's the Main Character of the book I am currently writing called Testament of An Archangel, in which I am taking on the small task of retelling the Fall of Lucifer and what really happened. I have done character interviews already for Honor Bound, one of which you can read here. I have posted excerpts from both Honor Bound and Testament here, and here .
1.) What is the name of your character?
Remiel, one of nine archangels and quite a witty character with a dry sense of humor.
2.) Is he/she fictional or a historic person?
Both, he is fictional but also referenced in the Old Testament and Enochian Testament.
3.) When and where is the story set?
Here, there, everywhere. In Testament the nine archangels, although they don't call themselves that, are actually manifestations of the universal energy who were created to bring about life throughout the universe and maintain the balance. Much of the book takes place here on Earth because that's where Lillith and Adam were created, Eve comes later, but you do get to travel the stars as well.
4.) What should we know about him/her?
Remiel is the conflict resolution brother. It always seems to fall upon him to try to restore peace within his family. When Lucifer feels that his solution for Elohim's burgeoning insanity is to make the first human, Lillith, even stronger and more independent, Remiel may not approve but he doesn't condemn. His overarching goal is always to maintain the balance and try to rise above the emotions to find some sort of resolution.
5.) What is the main conflict? What messes up his/her life?
Elohim feels that he deserves to be recognized for his gift to bring things to life. He is the only one of the nine who can. The others can design things, shape worlds, realign planets but when it comes to bringing things more complex than plants to life, that task falls to Elohim. The others bring him their creations and he instills the life force in them. Elohim wants to be worshiped, which is inherently unbalanced as worship is a one way street. Lucifer joins him at first because of the design challenge involved in making a bipedal, independent creation that has opposable thumbs and can completely change the world around it. Elohim wants to make something in his image that will bow down before him. Lucifer feels that this is wrong, creation should not worship it's creator and decides to impart within Lillith some of his personal divine spark so she will never fear or worship Elohim or anyone else. Lucifer neglects to mention this to Elohim or anyone else. When Lillith awakens, Lucifer becomes entranced by her beauty and her intelligence and falls in love. Things spiral down from there.
From the very beginning Remiel strives to find some way to bridge the growing gap of hate between Elohim and Lucifer and keep his family from splitting apart. Before Lillith, they had never fought, never truly argued, never had strong emotions. The ensuing chaos and upheaval following Lillith's awakening pushes Remiel and his family to the brink of war with each other. Remiel faces death and the choices they are forced to make challenge all of their beliefs about who and what they truly are.
6.) What is the personal goal of the character?
Peace between his family and the maintaining the balance withing the universe.
7.) Is there a working title for this novel, and can we read more about it?
Testament Of An Archangel is the title, I am looking for Beta readers. If you're interested leave a comment.
8.) When can we expect the book to be published or when was it published?
My goal is to have it written by December, I am on chapter 11 now. IT SHALL BE DONE!! I self publish so as soon as it is edited it goes up.
